#CommittedCommunity Agreements
Being a transformational leader and working to cultivate sustainable change requires that there be a disruption to the status quo when in leadership. The #CommittedCommunity Agreements outline the unique approach required of leaders to establish and maintain an environment where all stakeholders can fully show up as their whole selves, have a safe space to grow and develop and build a culture of positivity and excellence.
1. Lead with your heart.
Seek first to understand and not demand. Implementing, conscious, humanity-first leadership requires empathy and love for the community being served and all of its stakeholders. Recognize staff and organizational stakeholders as people first, and exercise compassion in decision-making.
2. Agitate the hierarchy.
As weird as it may sound, leadership is NOT/should not be about the leader. The impact of leadership is directly related to the person in the position and how effective they are, however leadership is about those that are being served. What are their needs? What is their experience? In decision-making and action planning how are the voices of the organization raised? How is the expertise and experience of stakeholders being leveraged?
3. Prioritize the Plan.
Leverage data to outline annual goals and priorities in order to narrow the technical and adaptive focus for professional development. What are the structures for development? How will progress be measured?
4. Implement with Effectiveness.
Ensure there is protected time for task completion and development that provides stakeholders multiple opportunities for practice and to receive feedback. Have a clear definition of success and how to measure it.
